NUTRITION

Nutrition, fundamental for any health program dealing with chronic and degenerative conditions. Nutrition is a minefield with an unlimited number of variables. There is now an awareness of diets from all corners of our world, many of which are totally inappropriate, when used in the wrong location. There is no one diet that will suit everyone. Many factors must be taken into account, ethnic background, location, weather, temperature, light available, ethical issues, health picture, metabolic type, theraputic regimes, and of course the current digestive capability.

Albert Einstein once said, 'Everything should be as simple as possible, but not simpler', good advice for any nutritionist.

There is one golden rule, The further you go from nature, the more significant the health problems encountered.

The objectives should are :-

  • To supply all the basic nutrients required for life.

  • To minimize the unnatural chemical(toxic) content of the food consumed.

  • To cause minimum stress to the body and digestion, with special consideration to

    • Not challenging blood sugar levels

    • Balanced Ph, not too acidic

    • Not compromise absorption

  • Has to be practical and suit lifestyle.

  • Best if the diet is enjoyed, it will not work if the food is disagreeable.

The reality is, that it is now difficult to obtain all our nutritional needs from our food. No one likes supplementation, supplements can never provide the quality nutrients that food can. However at this stage of history, many people benefit from and require purposeful supplementation. This is especially true during the theraputic phase when rebuilding depleted stocks.

Every case is unique and nowhere is this reflected more than a suitable diet.
